I found the one I wanted

We had a couple fucks

I might have fucked up in my choices

But here I am

Still writing poetry

And peeing on toilet seats

(Don’t worry I cleaned it up)

    1. Writing exactly how I feel in the moment that I feel. Emotions are fleeting. I try to grasp them when I get a chance so I can let them go and move forward.

      3. No way! Overstep we’re artists having artist conversations. Everyone arts differently for different reasons. My intention for this piece was to show that I fuck up and it looks a hot damn mess but it doesn’t stop me from my life’s purpose. I could lose everything and look like swine but you know what I’ll still have, my writing. And that’s something I’m super proud of. 👏👏🤗🤗

      4. Hmmm… No, you don’t look like swine and no matter your “fuck-ups” as you call ’em NO you shouldn’t lose everything or be willing to… not even for online poetry… but I like how honest you are in your writing and how willing you are to stand behind your own voice and work.

      6. “could does not mean willing” ??? I dunno what you mean… The tip of the iceberg is melting of course. What with climate change and all… right? If you wanna speak in poems… you (we) need to be accurate in the metaphors… analogies… intention… if we are to be the voices of women…
        So… if I may ask you, what do you mean “could does not mean willing”?
        And I do appreciate your point of view… and you taking the time to reply at all…

      7. I could lose everything does not mean I’m willing to lose everything. But to be honest I’d sacrifice a lot for my writing including my own reputation. What is it that makes you concerned for me about this poem? That I’m fucking? That as a human I question my choices? Or that I pee on toilet seats. These are all very human things. I think that you see this poem in a different light which is totally fine but what you take from it is not a direct reflection of me. This is a piece of art. A collection of emotions and feelings and my own reality and my own fantasies. What you take as truth from this piece is totally up to you as the reader. I will not judge you as the reader, but Id appreciate the same respect to me as an artist.

      8. If U wanna be a real writer, you’re gonna have to pee on stuff without apology I guess. What I know you to be is a young writer. A young woman. And an authentic person. Maybe it’s a piece of art. maybe it’s not. How would you know?

      9. I am a real writer and I am not sorry for peeing. hahaha that is a great question. What makes art, art? I think that’s worth looking into. I personally prefer avant garde off beat inappropriate art that doesn’t conform to societal expectations. What is art to you may be very different. Do I find mona lisa art? Am I one to say that it isn’t? Maybe it’s the wealthy who tell us what art is. Maybe it’s just someone who stands up to someone who tells them they aren’t a real artist. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ who knows. Regardless of your opinion, this is art and I am a writer.

      10. um… before I reply to all the rest, Jayne, LET us make one thing clear that YES Leonardo da Vinci (who painted the Mona Lisa) was in fact an artist, sublime and transcendent and probably if not undoubtedly out of our leagues.. He was also an engineer and a genius… not by proclaiming it but by realizing it, who liked boys… yes… he was gay, but so… he stood up to people in his time… of course he did embracing science.
        I wasn’t saying you are not a writer. I apologize if my straight forwardness made you feel in anyway diminished.
        I will be honest with you… if nothing else.

      11. I wasn’t questioning whether da Vinci was an artist. I questioned whether the mona lisa was a piece of art. Some artists believe that piece was just him experimenting. Did Da Vinci himself consider it art? If he didn’t does that make it not art? It seems as though one individuals opinion on what is art is irrelevant even if that one opinion is the artists.

      12. I can answer you and everyone else definitively Jayne. YES. The Mona Lisa is a work of art. And no it doesn’t matter what Da Vinci considered it. Can you paint a questionable smile like that? It is not a matter of “opinion” it’s about the history of painting in context of world history. His influence surpasses art. His influence never stopped. Your questions only validate that.

      13. And further What I am saying is his “considerations” of his own works doesn’t make art, art. Da Vinci was an artist so he made art regardless. Everything he did was art. He couldn’t help it. So yes, Mona Lisa is a work of art… and your failure to see that, isn’t his problem. It’s yours.

  4. So for real? You don’t think the actual Mona Lisa is a work of art and you of all people mean to diminsh Leonardo da Vinci? OMG LOL Jayne!!!! Yes, by all means take full responsibility for you lack of investigation. Be that woman who is ignorant by choice. It’s certainly YOUR choice.
