Breathe

This week the theme has been “Find Joy.” Today’s topic is breathing.

Learning how to breathe is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. We let our bodies do it automatically but what if we took control and focused on taking slow intentional breaths?

There’s a lot of benefits to breathing with intention:
-Increases awareness
-lowers stress
-increases blood flow to the brain
and so much more!

There’s many different techniques to try! Different techniques have different benefits.

If you’re interested, I found a list of 10 different techniques on Healthline.com

Side note: Once it starts getting cold, you’re going to see your breath so might as well take some control of it!

Since this is a blog and not a quickie post on Instagram, I’m going to be honest. I need to work on my breathing! I actually googled breathing techniques for the first for this post and wowzer, there’s a lot. I have done a handful of them in different places but some of them never had a name.

How about you? Do you practice different breathing techniques? Do you have a favorite?

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.
