The simplicity of this statement frustrates me. It frustrates me because it’s only 5 words. It almost feels like an understatement. Writing has brought me across worlds and time and space in ways no other medium has come close. It’s connected me to strangers in ways deeper than I’ve connected with most. I know I may romanticize writing, but it came with all these things. Some I may have begged for, some I may have happened across, but all are irreplicable gifts. I’m so grateful for the richness of my writers life.
Imagine all that in 5 words and those 5 words encompassing all of that.
