Merry Go Round

“How do you know it’s time to take your girlfriend to a merry-go-round?”
“When you want to spin the rest of your life with her.”

When I was a kid, I used to love the merry-go-round. I liked trying to walk afterward and feeling the world around me. These days, I get excited when I see a merry-go-round because they are so rare. But at the same time, the playgrounds these kiddos have today are pretty cool.

That’s all I got for today. Do you miss riding Merry go rounds?

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.

  1. Merry-go-Rounds not so much. But I’m more enamored of Carousels. My wife and I rode on one in Venice, CA, one-time home of Ray Bradbury. In his novel “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, a carousel that runs backwards and forwards in time transforms riders from pre-teens to adults, and vice versa. I remember being transported into a simpler time, whose residue persisted in lesser degrees each day moving forward.

      1. Bradbury was an interesting writer. His stories range from Science Fiction, Fantasy, to Mystery. Occasionally even some Horror. Most people know him for his classic short novel “Fahrenheit 451”.
