Finding Your Why: Key to Effective Writing

Bare feet walking through sand on a beach at sunset with waves in the distance.

Let them find you writing Day 7

I think 7 is a great place to wrap this up.

The word of the day is Know Your Why.

If you don’t know your why yet, that is some fantastic writing material. Write your way to your why.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

Frankl’s A Man’s Search for Meaning is a book that leads to why it’s important to find your why.

Your why is the foundation of why they’ll find you writing in the first place.

I don’t know why you write, but I have a feeling if you remain conscious of your why and return to it while you write, I’ll be able to find it while I read your work.

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.
