You Proud Yet?

There’s some days when rest is your best option and then there’s other days when the hustle and bustle of life is your only option. On the days you have the choice pick both! There are studies that show short rests or brain breaks increase productivity. When I was young, there was a point when I had three jobs. I worked at a coffee shop before school started, then a day program, and then an evening daycare when school was out. I could it and I could do it well enough to keep out of trouble and keep my head down. It’s easy if you don’t mind one bit that life’s passing you by. Those little breaks were amazing in between shift. Euphoric almost. But there was a lot I missed out on. Even today with a healthy work life balance I must prioritize things that make me miss out. I can’t imagine how much life I would have missed out on if I continued to work that way. Work is great! I love work. I love bringing home the bacon. I love when my parents are proud of the work I’m providing to this world. But at the end of the day, this life I choose to live is far more important than making those around me proud. It doesn’t feel good when everyone around me is proud while I’m not proud of myself. So, when you can improve your work life balance in a way that makes YOU PROUD of YOURSELF, take the opportunity! Make yourself proud and show up for yourself in ways that those around you never could.

What kinda things are you doing to make yourself proud?

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.
