My Top 3 Distractions

We all have our distractions. I think allowing some distraction is important. It invites creativity to flow in the background without pressure. But there’s times when distraction is too much of a distraction. For the sake of blogging and connection, I wanted to share my top distractions.

Let’s start with the most recent biggest distraction from writing, my job. I absolutely love my job so I welcome these distractions with arms wide open.

Second biggest distraction is my phone. What’s annoying is I’ll be doing something that requires my phone like looking up a phone number to fill out a form, then I get distracted by some other thing on my phone! My phone distracts me from my phone! This can happen like over and over again sometimes.

Third biggest distraction is food and tea. I always like to have a hot tea before I write and a snack before I write. It sounds like preparation or ritual which it is but sometimes, it feels like my better option is to write.

How bout you? What are your top three distractions

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.
