Walking in Other People’s Shoes

“Hyperrealism can create an atmosphere of surrealism because nobody sees the world in such detail.” –Salman Rushdie

While I cleaned the kitchen today, I played a video of Rushdie speaking to a group of Google employees about his work. I appreciate Rushdie because he writes Magical Realism, and he likes the idea of leaving characters open to interpretation. I like to leave things up to my reader. I also like to play with different ideas of morality, but I think that’s one of the biggest reasons I’m drawn to storytelling. We all think we know, but we really don’t. I feel like writing stories is the closest I’ll ever come to walking in other people’s shoes.

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.
