Let Them Find You Writing

This is a call to writers.

We have put our craft off for long enough. It’s time to get back in the game and act like we’re writers. Or maybe you’ve stayed in the game, but you’ve been feeling like you’re dragging yourself along, like you’ve lost that inner flame.

It’s time to find it again.

Since this is the first blog in this series, we are going to start with you.

The flame resides inside you. Yes, you!

Which means today’s theme is “Know Thyself.”

First things first, you need to get back inside your infinitely amazing self and find it.

Dust that journal off and start going through those values you have.

Find your top three.

Put ’em on a post-it note where you write.

And tomorrow, we’ll take it a step further.

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.

  1. Writers must write, not simply to pay their bills, or fulfill a lifelong goal. Writing for writers is like air to breathe, the pills we swallow to stave off death. We write to not feel dead.
