Novel Writers

I think I made it to the end of my novel. The next step is going through and filling in all the unanswered questions. One of my writing comrades suggested making a spreadsheet that has scene descriptions, character list, and the purpose of the scene. Now that the ending is finally written, I’m going to go back through it and get things more “organized.” I think. Mostly, I’d like to fill in the holes.

Where are you on your writing journey? How would you feel about a spreadsheet to guide your novel writing?

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.

  1. I just need to finish the first draft – handwriting phase – then, it’s off to the first rewrite, which is through a typewriter ^^ I would love to try that spreadsheet thing. I’ve tried it before but never really went through with it. πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

    1. oh I have never hand written an entire novel. That’s impressive these days. Soo cool that you’re handwriting And using a typewriter! I haven’t tried yet either but I might really have to invest some time into it. Thanks for sharing your journey. It can get lonely writing novels.

      1. I’ll be waiting and supporting your journey! And that’s true. Because I’m too focused on finishing a novel, it does get lonely at times. Never forget to have hobbies as a writer πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™
