Flow State

“Is there something in my life that makes me forget time while I’m doing it?”

Editing lately has been interesting. I have some writing sessions that when I look at the clock, I’m shocked it’s only been 10 minutes. Then there’s other times when I’m just chugging along and I look, two hours have gone by! Creative states are so weird but I like weird so it works for me.

Jayne is a writer. On her free time she likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Jayne works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.

  1. The creative process, for me is primarily an intuitive process. When I create first drafts, I’m using my left brain. Whereas when I produce my final version, I use my right, analytical brain. So, writing the draft feels like I’m in a trance state. Like automatic writing.
