Gentle Reminder: It’s ok to take a seat.

Big feelings hide behind movement. It’s ok to sit still.

When the world gets too unpredictable beneath my toes, I move. I clean; I work and get to things that I’ve been putting off. It feels right. It feels productive and better than mulling around all day. But it doesn’t leave time for healthy processing. It pushes aside what you’re feeling and leaves the hard for later. Because whatever feelings you don’t process are coming out whether you take time to process them or not.

So many times, I didn’t realize that all my overworking was just me not attending to my needs. The better thing to do would have been to sit and process.

But you know what helps?

Having writing sessions built into your daily routine. So, no matter what, I’m going to have to sit down and process at the end of the night whether I want to or not.

What’s your writing routine looking like lately?

When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize it was the search that held what was most important; curiosity." Saschia works daily on improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." and that's what she strives to start with.
