Trust Your Vision

What does that mean? What kind of vision are we talking about. I had to take a moment to think about this one.

Well I like to think of vision in a couple ways. One way seeing things that have not yet come to pass and being inspired to take action. The other way is gaining a profound insight. Like a dream while you’re awake.

I think this quote is referring to seeing things that have not yet happened in this reality. So I wanted to share a cool list of ideas that can help you trust your vision.

  • Keeping your end goal in mind
  • Having faith in the journey
  • Setting SMART goals
  • Visualizing success
  • Aligning your vision with your values
  • Cultivating patience
  • Embracing uncertainty
  • Celebrating small wins
  • Acting consistently with the vision
  • Holding others accountable for behaving consistently with the vision
  • Having passion and perseverance
  • Having grit
  • Being able to rebound from adversity
  • Defining your vision and goals
  • Having goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound
  • Engaging and inspiring your colleagues

Doors

I love doors. Look at them! There’s a million shapes and sizes. They can lead to great things or to places you never want to go again. I’m sorry for the doors you entered where you were not valued but let me give you a space where you can enter these doors and be valued for being exactly who you are.

How do my weekly “Doors” posts work?

On these blog posts, I insert a picture of an amazing door and then I insert a safe link to somewhere on the interweb. There will never be anything inappropriate on the other side of these doors. What I hope resides on the other side of these doors is inspiration.

Gratitude

I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.

Brene Brown

I like being happy but I’ve been in a dark enough place to know that it’s ok to have a few sad days. Sometimes it’s grief. Sometimes it’s disappointment. Whatever it is, it’s ok to be sad about. What’s great is that I have learned that it’s ok to be happy too. I do feel happiness can be overrated. There’s so much art in all of our emotional states.

Rain and Thunder Vibes

Tonight’s writing back ground sounds

In the past I’ve blogged about different types of music that I listen to while I write but today wasn’t music. This rain and thunder was playing all evening while I worked my daily writing goals and even during my solitude. The vibes were amazing.

How’s your daily writing goals coming?

Don’t Forget How Far You’ve Come

Keep Going

Ten years ago, I was grieving the loss of my first miscarriage. It was scary, sad, and confusing. Ten years before that, I was fighting for my life. Not due to drugs or alcohol, but from heavily toxic environments. I didn’t fully understand why they were wrong. I don’t think many people did back then, but I knew something wasn’t right.

Now today, I know my value. I know how to set clear boundaries with consistency without being so rigid that I can’t breathe. I have deep and profound peace when it comes to giving myself time to recharge. I meditate, write, and chase my dreams while constantly examining my values.

This is who I am because I can’t afford to be anything else. All those things I learned taught me how to live. I feel like I didn’t know how to live for a long time, but I can say with all sincerity, that I absolutely love being alive. I’m grateful for every morning I get to wake up and do all the things I love. (There are so many things.)

Triggered?

We all have our own unique triggers. I found an article all about triggers that seems pretty informative. This article talks about two different triggers, internal and external. I want you to be inspired to read the article, so here’s a bit of what it said about external triggers:

External triggers come from the person’s environment. They can be a person, place, or a specific situation.

and

Triggers typically elicit strong negative emotions such as fear, anger, or shame. People may feel unsafe or threatened and, as a result, may react by panicking, trying to escape the situation, crying, acting out, or becoming defensive.

When I feel triggered by something, I like to have a bubble bath, use grounding techniques, and write.

When something brings you back to a toxic place, what kind of things do you do to care for yourself?

Courage

“Courage is not always roar. Sometimes it’s the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.'”

-Mary Anne Radmacher

The “quiet voice” in the quote represents the inner strength we find within ourselves to keep going, even when things are tough. It’s the decision to face another day, to take another step forward, despite the fears and doubts that may arise.

Bard!!

I had to share an AI response to this poem. It’s fun!! and it helps me think about the poem.

Thank you, Bard
