Find Your Joy

Let your joy be in your journey—not in some distant goal.

Tim Cook

***Reminder during the dark months ahead***

Find things that bring you joy and make intentional time to enjoy them.

Some things that bring me joy:
Writers -their books, thoughts, and projects
Blankets -the soft ones and the big huge fluffy ones
Home, Friends, and Family

What brings you JOY?

No Phone More Present

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why we call it ‘The Present’

Eleanor Roosevelt

I got to enjoy a girls day today. And what made it even better was that I didn’t have my phone. I was so present all day. I had such a great time listening to the girls and seeing all the things they liked. My little one even brought her coins and was able to buy herself a lollipop which I love. We had a great day. I enjoy taking short breaks from having my phone.

Discern Your Visions

The other day I wrote a post about Trusting you Vision but this wasn’t referring to the type of vision you see while you’re awake. Those ones require discernment.

Disappointment

Definition of Disappointment: sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations.

Disappointment never feels good. Weather can disappoint us, jobs can disappoint us, and people can too. I’ve disappointed myself and I’ve disappointed others. The truth is that humans make mistakes. We can’t always be perfect. I can honestly say, I don’t want to be a disappointment and confession time I fear being a disappointment more than most other things. ::insert sigh of relief here:: The best thing about sharing that is that I’m acknowledging and accepting my imperfections which helps me to better accept and understand those around me.

So how do we solve this?

The answer is simple, place our hopes in things that can’t disappoint us.

Here’s some ideas about things:

We can hope that we can grow, learn, and improve ourselves, and that we can make a positive difference in the world. We can also hope that we can overcome our challenges, fears, and failures, and that we can achieve our goals and dreams.

Do It Anyway

“Feel the fear and do it anyway”

There’s going to be times in your life where the things you want are on the other side of fear. Fear will keep us in situations that no longer serve us. It will keep us from opportunities that were specifically created for us. Fear has it’s place but don’t let it keep you from growing into who you’re supposed to be. Feel the fear and do it anyway.
